Steps Brighton Driving Lessons

STEP 1

Getting your Provisional Driving Licence

Before you can begin to learn to drive you’ll need a provisional driving licence.

You can apply for your provisional licence using a form (D1) that you can get from your local post office. It should take 3 weeks to arrive.

Once you have your provisional licence you are now legally able to take your first lesson with one of our Approved Driving Instructors (ADI).

STEP 2

Take and Pass your Theory Test

Once you have your provisional driving licence we’d recommend you book your theory test as soon as you can. It’s not possible to book your practical driving test until you’ve passed your theory test so best to get that out of the way.

Sample tests and more information can be found here: www.theory-tests.co.uk

STEP 3

Take and Pass your Practical Driving Test

Once it has been agreed that you are ready, having taken practise tests with your instructor, you can book your practical driving test.

Remember to make sure your instructor is available on the day, and let them know when you get your test appointment letter.

Tests can be booked online or over the phone and you will need a valid UK provisional driving licence and a driving theory test certificate number.
